RBmedia has announced the launch of a new audiobook series for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander, narrated by acclaimed actor Kristin Atherton. Known for her powerful performances on stage and screen, Atherton will lend her voice to Jenny Murray, the lead character in the story. This marks a significant transition following the retirement of Davina Porter, who narrated the original series for nearly three decades.

The Outlander series, first published in the 1990s, follows a woman thrust back in time to a war-torn era where she finds love and faces a life divided between two worlds. Kristin Atherton’s narration was endorsed by fans and author Diana Gabaldon as the ideal choice to succeed Porter.

The new recordings will complement the original audiobooks and include all previously published titles, from Outlander through Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, along with the anticipated tenth and final installment. The first audiobook, narrated by Atherton, will be available for pre-order and is set to release on April 29, 2025, with the remainder of the series rolling out later in the year.
