Is color E-Ink really worth it for reading books?

Color e-ink screens, like the Kobo Clara Color, often have reduced contrast and appear darker, making them less ideal for reading books. For most readers, the experience is compromised.

While Amazon sticks to mainstream features, Kobo focuses on color, but even their screens don’t match the clarity of black-and-white e-ink.

Amazon will likely adopt color when it’s better for reading, but for now, black-and-white screens remain the best choice. What’s your take?
