OPTION #1

You can create your own custom column by going to Preferences:

1737454240765.webp

Create a custom column and selected the predefined option:

1737454332734.webp

Change Column heading to whatever name you want.

My result is like this:

1737454373471.webp

OPTION #2

Another way is to use the Rating column. When you import the book, set the rating to Not rated (sometimes the rating will apply if you are importing metadata):

1737454576623.webp

When you have finished a book, rate it. That way you will know you have read it.

For many year I have been using a mix of these two options. I created a custom column called myrating that uses ratings, shown in star. If I read it, I star it -- et voilá!
