Can Kobo Libra or PocketBook install apps?

I'm diving into the world of e-readers and could use some advice. After seeing mixed reviews online, I’m considering the Kobo Libra or PocketBook. I primarily use apps like Kindle, Nook, Audible, StoryGraph, VPN, and Booksprout.

Do either of these devices allow app downloads, either from an app store or directly from a website? Any experience with this would be super helpful.

No, Kobo and PocketBook (most of them) runs on Linux and you can't install apps there. If you want those apps on an ereader, you'll need to get an Android based device.

Both the Kobo Libra and PocketBook devices don’t have access to app stores like you’d find on Android, so you won’t be able to install apps like Kindle, Audible, or StoryGraph directly.

These e-readers are more focused on reading and supporting e-books, rather than running apps. If app usage is a big part of your e-reading experience, you might want to look into an Android-based e-reader like the Onyx Boox devices, which let you install Android apps.
