Can I add non-Kindle eBooks to my Kindle paperwhite?

I’ve won some eBooks from giveaways (Goodreads, StoryGraph, etc.) and want to add them to my Kindle Paperwhite in the UK. I know 'Send to Kindle' works for US users with Libby eBooks, but can I use it to add non-Kindle store eBooks to my device in the UK?

Yes, you can add non-Kindle eBooks to your Kindle Paperwhite. Just use the "Send to Kindle" email feature. Email the eBook (in supported formats like .mobi or converted .epub) to your Kindle’s unique email address, and it’ll appear in your library.

Another option you can explore is using the Kindle app on your PC or Mac. You can drag and drop supported eBooks into the app, which will sync them to your Kindle Paperwhite if it’s linked to the same Amazon account.

Also, if you’ve won DRM-protected eBooks, check if the provider offers a Kindle-compatible format or a direct download link for Amazon devices. Some giveaway platforms now support this, making the process much simpler.

Yes, and you can also manually transfer eBooks to your Kindle using a USB cable. Simply connect your Kindle to your computer, then drag and drop the eBook files (in formats like .mobi or .azw3) into the “Documents” folder on the device. This bypasses the need for email or apps and works for non-DRM-protected eBooks.
