Apple Removes Book Publishing from Pages Amid AI Integration

Apple has removed the ability to publish e-books directly to Apple Books through its Pages app. This change came with the latest update that introduced AI-powered features under “Apple Intelligence.” Apple reportedly made this move to avoid complications around users creating AI-generated books and submitting them directly to Apple Books, a platform that doesn’t currently support AI authorship attribution—unlike Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing.

As a result, authors now have to use the Apple Books for Authors website to upload EPUB files or rely on third-party distributors to reach multiple e-book platforms.
